Campground Policies and Procedures - 2026

Penn Highlands Campground is a private campground operating under clearly defined policies and procedures. These policies exist to ensure safety, fairness, and clear communication for all campers, guests, and campground management.

All campers are responsible for reviewing and complying with the policies outlined below.

Policy Acknowledgement

By reserving or occupying a campsite at Penn Highlands Campground, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and agree to comply with all campground policies and procedures, including any updates made during the season.

Failure to comply may result in enforcement action, including loss of campground privileges or removal from the property.

Policy Updates

Policies may be updates at any time. The most current versions will always be available on this page and the linked policy pages.

Booking & Reservation Policy

All camping stays must be booked online through our official booking system.

  • Reservations are not confirmed until a confirmation email is sent.
  • Verbal holds, messages, or informal agreements do not guarantee a site.
  • Booking online helps ensure accurate records and protects both our staff and campers.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who does not follow booking procedures or campground policies.

Payment Policy

Payment terms are provided at the time of booking.

Cash Payments

  • Cash payments are by appointment only
  • Walk-up cash payments are not accepted
  • Appointments must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance

This policy is in place to protect staff and ensure accurate payment records.

Cancellation & Changes

Cancellations and changes must be made at least 72 hours in advance.

  • Refunds or credits depend on the type of stay and notice given
  • Event tickets and special bookings may have separate cancellation terms
  • No-shows may result in forfeiture of payment

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in and check-out times are provided at booking.

  • Early check-in and late check-out must be requested in advance
  • Availability is not guaranteed
  • Additional fees may apply

Camping Season & Winter Policy

Penn Highlands Campground operates seasonally from May 1 through September 30.

Winter Policy

  • No winter camping is permitted
  • Seasonal campers may leave their RV or camper on site during the off-season
  • No utilities, services, or supervision are provided during winter months
  • Penn Highlands Campground is not responsible for any damage, loss, or issues that occur during the off-season, including weather-related damage

Campground Speed Limit

The speed limit within the campground is 5 MPH.

  • This applies to all vehicles, including cars, trucks, golf carts, ATVs, and motorcycles
  • Excessive speed puts people, children, and pets at risk

Failure to follow the speed limit may result in warnings or removal from the campground without refund.

Fire Safety

For the safety of everyone at the campground:

  • Fires are permitted only in designated fire rings
  • No loose or unattended fires
  • Fires must be fully extinguished before leaving the site or going to sleep
  • Burning trash or prohibited materials is not allowed

Fire restrictions may be enforced at any time due to weather or safety concerns.

Campground Conduct

We expect respectful behavior at all times.

  • Excessive noise, disruptive behavior, or unsafe actions are not tolerated
  • Respect quiet hours and neighboring campers
  • Follow all posted signs and staff instructions

Failure to comply may result in immediate removal from the campground without refund.

Responsibility & Liability

Campers stay at their own risk.

  • Penn Highlands Campground is not responsible for loss, theft, injury, or damage to personal property
  • Campers are responsible for their vehicles, equipment, and belonging
  • Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times

Events & Special Activities

Events and collaborations are held on select dates.

  • Event-specific rules and policies will be shared with each event
  • VIP tickets, when offered, are limited and non-transferable
  • Event policies may differ from standard campground policies

Policy Enforcement

These policies are enforced to keep the campground safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Failure to follow campground policies may result in:

  • Warnings
  • Removal from the campground
  • Loss of booking without refund
